The pau and soup was good. The noddles were a bit undercooked. The service was not bad as what I’ve expected from the other reviews.

This is definitely not my first time eating nam kee ban mian and I remember it being pretty decent..

So I am determined to review this and hopefully give them a better rating. Infact I was shocked that any food stall can have a less than 2 star rating so....

It's indeed deserving of it's poor rating!

Firstly, the soup covers the entire noodles and ingredients, so we can't really see anything much below it. That's weird... But for a person who love soup, like me, I didn't mind that... At first.

Then the taste of my you mian (thin noodles) was soggy... Definitely overcooked.
First sip of the soup, and immediately we both tasted the layer of oil on top! It did keep the soup hot throughout but it was pretty disgusting. My partner didn't even bother drinking it anymore.

I did ask for no ikan bilis for mine, and that instruction was well received, but my bowl also only came with 1 pathetic slice of mushroom and a ONE cm "residue" of A vegetable. There was also 2 lumps of meats balls (with no meat slice), that was weird.
Whereas my partner had about 4 slices of mushroom, vegetable were as usual, same 2 lumps of meat plus some meat slices, which was extremely tough! So there is obviously something wrong with everything. It seems like when I asked for no ikan bilis, they removed all the other ingredients as well... Sounds like the other ingredients couldn't live without the ikan bilis!

Most importantly, it really didn't taste good. Noodles, soup, meat and everything was , except for....
Their Chilli! The best dish of the day! Not meant to be sarcastic (or maybe I am), coz it's really the best.
Even their lime juice was diluted.

Eventually my partner wasn't full and wanted to order their pau...but the food tasted so badly, that she didn't have the courage in any of their stuff anymore.
Hopefully the boss of this outlet or franchise can see this and do something about it. Because I am pretty sure, I won't be the only one who won't be returning to this outlet, EVER again.

FYI... the fatter guy was at the counter, and it was the thinner guy (with Abit of tattoo) that was cooking our noodles.

Probably the worst service ever. Visited this place on Friday about 1pm. Went in, eyes fixated on display menu. My husband told me he wanted a pau. Before I could even open my mouth to order, the fat man behind the counter told me there’s no pau.
All would be fine until he sarcastically added, ‘did you not see there’s no pau in my steamer?’
No, I did not notice the steamer.
Even if I had, I would not know the operational procedures.
Being eve of public holiday, maybe pau are steamed in smaller quantities that do not require the big steamer in front.
Customer service for such a small outlet is paramount to the survivalship of a brand.
Hiring such ill mannered staff spells early demise of its business.
When I told him that he was rude, all he did was stood there and grin.
Looks to me like he has a revenge plan on his boss to chase away as many customers as possible.
It really did not take him a lot to just say’ sorry, no pau today’ but there’s noodles to order.
Period.

This was before I started eating, portion is very small so if you are hungry or is a big eater you got to order more than 1 item. Flavour wise it's ok, I remember the one from turf city was richer. Maybe just opened still fine-tuning things.

Decent option for a quick snack. However, it's very tight and hectic. Settle for a table that has not been cleaned. But then again, food isn't so bad for its price.

Horrible service.
This morning at ard 8AM, 11Oct, I came to order 1 char siew pau and 1 milk coffee with ice. I said “with ice” like 3 seconds later and the uncle shouted at me like why I couldnt make up my mind before I order and the fact is he even hasnt started making coffee or taking the pau yet.
I said I wont buy it anymore and he kept shouting while I was walking away.
What’s wrong with this uncle and I wrote this review because it’s not the first time this uncle’s rude to me. At that time, I thought he might be having a bad day but this time he broke my limit.

I stay opposite so I visit quite often but now never want to come back one more time.

Tried their teh several times and I can only say that it tastes very diluted. not sure if it's cost cutting or whether they are aware of making tea but nah. no more

As what others have mentioned here, food portion is indeed small and attitudes/manners of staffs POOR. I ordered ban mian soup to take away, and wanted to add more veg, they charge me another $1.20 for that. They already charge for take away box, when I asked them to separate my noodles from soup, they made me pay another 20 cents on top of the takeaway charge. That is still fine.
When I see the plump guy cooking my order, I reminded politely him that I have paid to add veg please (as my experience with many places they took money for extra veg but ended up not adding). He just needed to nod or say ok, but no, he replied rudely he has added (not very much when I saw it at home), and that if it is not enough, I should pay for more portions and he will add again. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I thought that was rude and unnecessary. Will not patronise this outlet again.
